Urbanista Is an all girl Street dance group created by Priya Lisa Gonsalves featuring Priya herself, Giselle John, Kezia Fernandes and Simone Louis and newest member Payal Balse. Urbanista was created to encourage the female presence in the underground Hip Hop dance culture in India and focuses on the dance aspect of different styles. The girl group was formed to provide a platform for female artists to express themselves creatively. Urbanista is versatile, funky, creative and experimental, aiming to push boundaries as far as creative performance is concerned. Some styles we play with are Hip Hop, House, Waacking, Dancehall, Tutting, R&B and basic funk styles. Most importantly we were created to be non competitive and to provide an outlet for expression!
